KEZK Artist of the Week: Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty

[lastfm]Matchbox Twenty[/lastfm]’s Bent is the band’s first (and so far only) number one single on the US Billboard chart. Interestingly enough, the song performed poorly in the UK, where some of its lyrics have alternate and rather graphic slang meanings.

The video plays off lead singer Rob Thomas’s sudden rise to prominence after the band’s 1999 smash hit Smooth. Throughout the video, the other members of the band take turns abusing Thomas, hitting him with a car, stealing his money, and assaulting him on the street.
