Waterfalls is arguably [lastfm]TLC[/lastfm]’s most popular song, spending seven weeks on top of the Billboard charts in 1995. The song has also been remembered quite well, with VH1 placing it 8th in their list of top 100 songs of the ’90s.

Perhaps coincidentally, TLC’s Waterfalls appears to share some lyrical similarity to [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm]’s 1980 song of the same name. TLC’s famous chorus, “Don’t go chasing waterfalls / Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to,” bears a striking resemblance to the beginning of McCartney’s song, “Don’t go jumping waterfalls / Please keep to the lake.”
