Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Has Died at Age 54

Michael Clarke Duncan who was nominated for a Academy Award for his portrayal of John Coffey in “The Green Mile” has died.

Duncan was called a gentle giant and was engaged to Omorosa Manigault.  He was being treated for a heart attack he suffered  on July 13.

Michael Clarke Duncan other movie credits include “Armageddon”¬† “Planet of the Apes” and “Kung Fu Panda.”

Tom Hanks, Clarke’s co-star in “The Green Mile”, said in a statement: “I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.”

Michael Clarke Duncan was 54.
