Lady Gaga says she supports a boycott of the upcoming Winter Olympics in Russia due to their anti-gay laws.
In an interview with British talk show host Alan Carr on his show, Chatty Man (via The Independent), Gaga said, “I don’t think that we should be going to the Olympics at all.”
The ARTPOP singer explained that she didn’t want to take away from the athlete’s hard work, but felt it wasn’t right to support the country’s discriminatory laws. “I just think it is absolutely wrong for so many countries to send money and economy in the way of a country that doesn’t support gays,” she said. “They pepper spray and beat them in Russia.”
