Are your kids excited about the LEGO Movie??? It’s here and it’s a great weekend to bundle up and hit the theaters.
In The Lego Movie, an ordinary construction worker Lego figure named Emmet (voiced by Parks and Recreation’s Chris Pratt) is mistaken for the Special, the great Master Builder who can save the Lego universe. Emmet enlists the help of the wizard Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman) and the female fighter Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) to defeat the evil Lord Business (Will Ferrell), a tyrant intent on destroying the Lego world. Also featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Jonah Hill, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, Will Forte, Channing Tatum, Cobie Smulders, and Jorma Taccone. Rated PG.
The Monuments Men-Based on a true story, the historical drama The Monuments Men stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, and The Artist’s Jean Dujardin as a World War II platoon of museum curators and art historians who are tasked with entering Nazi Germany and rescuing stolen artistic masterpieces. The scholarly group must adapt to a military lifestyle, save the works of art from damage and destruction and return them to their rightful owners in order for their mission to succeed. Rated PG-13
Vampire Academy-Vampire Academy is the latest teen fantasy out to prove that the vampire trend isn’t going anywhere soon. Zoey Deutch stars as Rose, a 17-year-old half-human, half-vampire who escapes from boarding school with her best friend Lissa, who is part of a royal vampire race known as the Moroi. The girls are dragged back to the school and become ensconced in a conflict with an evil, bloodthirsty race of vampires known as the Strigoi. Co-starring Gabriel Byrne, Sarah Hyland, Olga Kurylenko, and Joely Richardson. Rated PG-13.
