I have a weakness for a couple of things.

And by weakness, I mean I sometimes laugh at situations when it might not be entirely appropriate.  (Yes, this is how kids get in trouble at school.)

People falling on the ice is one.  Local newscast bloopers are another.

However, the one thing that will always make me laugh, no matter what, is a bad version of our national anthem. (Usually before a sporting event of some kind.)

We had yet another example of this over the weekend before the NASCAR Nationwide race in Daytona on Saturday.

The  hard rock band,  Madison Rising decided to go all in with their performance–and by all in,  I mean they lost their minds.

So much so that I would have bet my house it was one of those stories The Onion  is known for.

It wasn’t.

I’ll give you a hint, the lead singer of the band  makes Scott Stapp of Creed  seem genuinely disinterested on stage.

I mean, we’re talking Roseanne Barr territory here.    They actually manage to give  Carl Lewis a run for his money.

I’m not sure what’s funnier, the fact that the performance is so amazingly bad and inappropriate to the moment,  or that the band was introduced as “America’s most patriotic rock band”

As if something like that could be proven!  (You can only imagine Ted Nugent’s reaction when he heard that!)

Either way, you can see some of the NASCAR drivers are thinking the same thing we’re thinking.

“What the…..?”

UPDATE:   (It finally hit me who this guy sounds like.  Remember Jack Black in “School of Rock?”)
