Study Confirms What I’ve Known All Along–Parents Seek Refuge In The Bathroom

Greg Hewitt

I’m not exaggerating when I say that IF I’m not working, I’m almost always home with the kids these days.

They’re 8,5 and 3 which explains why I appear to have aged 10 years over the past 18 months or so.

Now, I love these kids more than life itself and they bring my wife and I immense joy.  Like most parents, I would do anything for my kids.

They can also wear you out, especially now that “summer break” is upon us.

This much I’m sure of, It’s going to be a long 10 weeks for us.

We’re only a week into it and already I think the kids can sense weakness in their Mom and I.  It appears my “Kids Clean the Yard Day” idea didn’t go over as well as I’d hoped.

Which is why it comes as no surprise to me anyway that  64% of parents say they feel the need to ESCAPE for a while during a day with their kids, according to a new survey.

The average time when parents escape is 3:53 P.M, and almost all of them find refuge in the BATHROOM.

The ‘average parent” says they take about three or four trips to the bathroom during the week because it’s their only way to get some privacy.

Vic & Trish from the Fresh morning show know this to be true in my case.  I’ve had to tell them on numerous occasions the only way I can speak with them on the phone during their show is if I can find some “alone time” in the bathroom.

And they thought that sounded odd.

Vindication is mine!
