There is simply no better place to spend an indoor day in the city than at City Museum. Small children can climb, play, slide, splash and explore to their hearts’ content, and even enjoy a full circus performance. Adults will enjoy the amazing upcycled art and architecture, mosaics and sculpture that fill every square inch of space inside the massive museum. Teens and young adults really get into the creepy crawly, steam punk-flavored tunnel spaces.

Your free admission to the Science Center allows you explore free interactive exhibits on everything from dinosaurs to space exploration. For a nominal fee, adults will enjoy an Omnimax film, while kids might prefer to visit the Discovery Room. The Planetarium is filled with exhibits related to space and flight, including a flight simulator and dark sky planetarium shows. Parking on the Planetarium side of the museum inside Forest Park is free. You can walk across the sky bridge to the other side any time.

St. Louis’s world-class Art Museum is free to visit, with the exception of special exhibits. The collection is wonderfully diverse, including a little bit of everything. Mummies, suits of armor, pre-columbian artifacts, African and Asian art, classical sculpture and paintings and modern works are all on display, offering something for absolutely everyone. Food and a gift shop are available as well.
