TWO Heroes: Marine Sees 6 Year Old Son With Cerebal Palsy Walk For First Time

Today is Veterans Day, and there will be many salutes and parades across the country in their honor.

READ HERE  about some other ways we can help veterans and their families–not just today, but every day.

And speaking of the families, it’s important to remember how difficult a deployment can be on them as well.

When my husband left on his deployment, our 6-year-old son could not walk on his own. He has cerebral palsy. Doctors originally said that he would never walk or do much of anything. While daddy was away, he learned to walk. For his homecoming, we set it up for Michael to walk to his daddy for the first time ever!

We kept the fact that he could walk a secret the whole time his dad was gone!”

I give you the single greatest military homecoming of all time.

You’ll need a tissue for this one.

Katie Couric followed up with the family after they were settled.
