Nothing would ruin a girl’s prom night like seeing some other girl wearing the same dress as her, which is why more dress shops have started prom registries to insure that a teen customer’s gown remains a one-of-a-kind look on her big night. “To have someone wear the same dress, it would be embarrassing for both of you,” says 16-year-old Adriana Romano, who recently shopped for her prom gown at a New York formalwear boutique called Bonjulies, where such a registry is kept.

The Wall Street Journal also reports that some girls have started online registries for their schools via Instagram or Facebook. Adds a California boutique owner, “The moms really appreciate it.”

I’m sure Trish and the girls from Ursuline Academy wish they had a registry during their prom days!
