Pop-Tart Beer to Debut Saturday in California

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

Hot on the heels of announcements that beers in the style of Wheaties and Count Chocula cereal are being produced, now comes word that the San Francisco Bay Area’s 21st Amendment brewery is producing an India Red Ale that’s an homage to Pop-Tarts.

Toaster Pastry IRA will make its debut this Saturday at the brewery’s new San Leandro facility, where Kellogg’s cereals were once produced.

Don’t expect the Pop-Tart beer to be overwhelmingly sweet, however, as TIME notes that it’s IBU puts its flavor in line with the bitterness of Stone IPA.
