The dramatic black and white video criticizes police brutality by inter-cutting between images of guns, handcuffs and people holding their hands up in defense. “We still in chains,” Usher repeats over and over on the chorus.
The video switches gear near its halfway point when Usher enters a church to find people mourning a victim brought down by police violence.
Usher previously released a video for the track in October 2015, which called attention to police brutality and required viewers to pay attention in order to hear the entire song. In order to watch the video, viewers needed a camera and any time they looked away it would stop playing.
