Americans love breakfast so much that market research firm NPD Group predicts that breakfast consumption will grow faster than the U.S. population over the next few years. Breakfast consumption both in and away form home is expected to grow by 5 percent through 2019, compared to the expected population growth of four percent. Convenience and affordability are key to getting more people to eat in the morning. Hence, fast-food restaurants and portable snacks like yogurt and cereal bars are partly responsible. However, 70 percent of breakfasts are still consumed at home.
