On September 7, Bruce Springsteen played a typically epic concert in Philly, which sucked for Michael Fenerty Sr. and his young son, also named Michael.
“As a fan, I loved it. As a parent, I hated it. I wanted to kill him!” Michael Sr. tells The Philadelphia Inquirer.
So when The Boss held a book signing earlier this week, Michael Sr. brought a note excusing his son from school and asked Springsteen to sign it.
According to Michael Sr., The Boss responded by saying, “I have to read it first; that’s how I got in trouble with my first contract,” but eventually signed the note.
