Forget Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump…Illinois resident Kenneth Bone owned that debate stage last night at Washington University.

Clad in what some have termed a “natty” red sweater (and a white on white shirt/tie combination) Bone asked a question about energy which was one of the few that actually elicited some real policy discussion among the candidates.

You just knew however, once he stood up and fumbled a bit with the paper his question was written on, he was on his way to becoming a genuine, internet meme.

And the tweets haven’t stopped yet.

UPDATE: Like this one about the now famous red sweater, which as it turns out, was his backup plan!

I’m betting “split the seat of my pants wide open” will be the one quote we’ll all remember from this incident.

Bone was also spotted pulling out a disposable camera to capture the scene once the debate wrapped. He even got to shake handswith President Bill Clinton before heading out!

This Twitter exchange between Bone and  comedian Patton Oswalt sums it up best I think…
