The AP reports that over 320 companies have pledged to give their employees Election Day off to ensure that they’re able to vote, with Silicon Valley driving the trend. But while the closure of an office park in Mountain View may not catch people’s attention, Patagonia’s decision to join the “Take Off Election Day” movement means that all 29 of its U.S. stores will be closed on November 8. “A lot of people can’t vote because they have to go to work,” says Josh Wexler, CEO of RevCascade, a retail technology company that decided to give all 14 of his employees the day off two Tuesdays from now.
