Ellen DeGeneres: We’re “More Alike Than We Are Different”

On Wednesday’s episode of her talk show, Ellen DeGeneres offered a pre-taped monologue to viewers about Tuesday night’s election results. Ellen first joked that she doesn’t want people to “spoil” the results for her. “It’s on my DVR,” she said. “I’m watching other stuff.” She then talked about Americans’ commonalities, like having no towel when you step out of the shower, and tried to offer words of wisdom and comfort. “People have been very passionate about this race. And I think it’s because we all love our country, we just have different ideas about what’s best for it, which is part of what makes America great,” she said. “And I believe we can all come together because if you take away the labels, you realize we’re far more alike than we are different.”
