A 9-year-old from Colorado is responsible for overturning part of a law in his town banning snowball fights.

Dane Best, from Severance, Colorado, just wanted to throw a snowball without getting in to trouble with the law. So, he did something about it.

Dane went to a town meeting Monday to voice his opposition to the rule, which was part of an ordinance making it illegal to throw or shoot stones or missiles. Snowballs fell under the town’s definition of “missiles,” according to The Sentinel in Colorado.

He was able to get the members to unanimously overturn the ban.

"All of the kids always get blown away that it's illegal to have snowball fights in Severance," said the assistant town administrator Kyle Rietkirk. "So, what ends up happening is (town leaders) always encourage the kids with, 'You have the power you can change the law.' No one has."
